A healthy 038 mag will pull a 28” bar and full comp chain in soft wood no problem. Hard wood will slow it down a little, just like any other saw. I run a 28” light bar and RS chain on mine. Got another with a 20” bar EXL chain and 8 pin rim sprocket.Compare the Sthil 029 with the Sthil 026. 54cc and 50cc. Not a lot of size difference but the Sthil 029 with mm and a few changes seems like a LOT bigger saw. Only 4cc bigger. The Echo cs310 is about 30 cc compared to a xs352 at 34cc yet the cs 310 isn't nearly the saw the cs352 is.I muffler modded my new CS-4910 before it even saw wood for the first time. Two screws to remove the deflector and spark arrestor screen and pulled the baffle tube out of the muffler.
